Hi visitors! Welcome to my blog. The theme for my blog is "Ways to be happy" or you could also say ways to be a happier person or you could think of it as the road to happiness or to a happier life. If we can't get happy, lets work on becoming content. When I was growing up and I brought up being unhappy, my mom would say "who's happy" and then she'd say just try to be content.
Personally as far back as I can remember, or almost, I have been depressed. To let you in on a little secret, I think I've never been that happy of a person, I've been depressed probably a good percentage of my life. And without totally giving out my age, I been living for over 6 decades. Like hopefully most people, I've had my happy moments and I've had a lot of happy moments. I would of liked to have had a whole lot more happy moments then I've had so far. But hey, life isn't over yet and I hope to have many more happy experiences and moments!
I'm stuck inside my home much more then I care to be. But to me happiness or probably more toward contentedness is getting out of my apt. and going somewhere. I don't have a car which really cramps a person's style so I take the bus places. I walk and I take the bus. Or actually we take the bus, me and my son. Now that I'm old I can't walk as much as when I was healthier and younger as now I tire a lot faster.
So my no 1 way to advise people to be happier or be more content is to get out of your home and go someplace. Although it would be fun to have a friend, or friends, to go out with, you can always go out by yourself. Go out and enjoy a coffee, or tea, at a coffee shop like Starbucks. Or visit a park youtu.be/uCXCwdGWUMs and go enjoy a stroll around a beautiful nature trail. Take an enjoyable walk around your downtown. Consider a trip to the city public library or if available the university campus library.
When you are out and about consider making an effort to talk with people. Like while you waiting in a grocery store line or waiting to get your coffee at a coffee shop. Yesterday I encountered 2 very nice and friendly persons. The first was the counter worker at a coffee shop and the other was the lady behind me in line at a grocery store. She commented on the store more often then not giving the customer the sale price of the item. Or actually I think she said the store forgets to take the sales tag off of the item and then charges the customer the regular price. It was such a pleasure talking with this nice lady. It made me feel happy. My happy experience talking with her made up for my encounter with 4 other workers with bad attitudes.
